CyberB Cafe ShopA space for dropping by and discussing politics, religion and current affairs. A Question of BalanceI make no apology for my current condition and how it has effectively made me who I am today. Un like what I was , so many years ago when age, illness and other circumstances now interfere with my ability to work and do so many other things. My only real regret has been ti have run of time to be able to do the things I use to enjoy, like being to get up in the morning and walk wherever I may like or to do whatever I like. Physically and economically I have been severely limited, as a consequence of diabetes and it’s accompanying complications. But even with these limiting factors I continue to live and to strive for my self betterment, only more deeply aware of what I have to do to and to reshape the vision of how life ought to be. I also realize that my self betterment is more in tune with egalitarian objectives, in that however I can improve my self, others around are also improved and thereby humanity advances., in proportion to my own self realization and transition. I can assist in the facilitation of change and growth, through my own change and growth, so long as I remain open to the positive and not allow the negative dominate my life. In the bigger scheme of things, I am but one very minute microcosm of the whole, but powerful enough nonetheless to affect the whole. Being humble and ‘selfless’ is part of becoming this agent of change, through realization of who you are in relation to the the whole. The universal is a one over soul and you are small reflection this over soul with trillions of others through time and space. But think for a moment how much greater you really are when considered that you are loved as all others are so loved, that you are no less important as are all the others, and that you are equally an agent of change. So can you see? What can you see? Windows 7 and creating musicJust under a month ago, I downloaded Windows 7 rc 1 and installed it on my compaq presario, a 64 amd machine. I have found so much better than the previous Windows (namely Windows XP and Vista) – now i don’t want to go backwards, and want to keep this operating system. So hopefully it will be put in a price range affordable for people with disabilities and surviving on a limited fixed income. Not everyone can dish out huge sums of money to keep their systems up to date. I have yet to be able to afford a decent photo and graphics program. More than even this, is being to use music creation and editing tools with the least amount of headaches. At first, it was difficult to get such software to work, but eventually had several successful installs and I am beginning to create my own original compositions. Someday I will share it with others but for now, I just want to say – those who have the creative urge to do graphics and/or create music, Windows 7 will meet the challenge and will get better I believe in time. And you will still be able to listen to your favorite music, do some creative writing with MS Word, or design that presentation to promote your art with, read email and surf the web. I even network with all 5 computers used in this household, and had a very gratifying result. Keep Windows 7 on the right track. If you haven’t tried it, download it and run it for awhile (before you cannot get it, except commercially}. : ) Crisis: opportunity or disaster? For many of us, facing financial hardship is a given, especially those of us on a fixed income each month. But when corporations like cell phone company make it almost impossible toclose out accounts without creating further hardship, how can we expect to survive with the kind of cutbacks we have to endure?
In time, these conditions may change and the original allotment may be restored, but it could another year or more for that to happen. So in the meantime, does our credit history havve to suffer, while comapnies refuse to work with you?
\Case in point, I have been a loyal consumer with T-mobile, staying on top of payments as well as I can muster. Even at the beginning, I started with two acounts and made payments on time, and kept adding to their flex account plan. Now I can no longer afford it and cannot get cancelled without causing me further hardship. I am stuck between two imposible situations. I cannot afford to amake the payments each month nor can I pay the $200 required to cancel my contract which is due to end at the end of October. I can stop payments but then, credit gets further shot down, making it more difficult for the future when I need such credit. I have tried for two weeks now to resolve this problem and cannot get the right person to assist me in this dilemma - TMobile has a lot more money than I have and can take the small loss i would be, by not being their customer any more. So what can you do? There are other accounts I am trying to cease and not incur any more unpaid bills, but the same story seems to be the case.
If the governor of california would see that the poor, disabled, and seniors are valuable assets to the economy, maybe he would restore our State payments, following in the footsteps of the Feds. Without which, more economic hardship will befall us, and we have less to contribute to the whole.
